Lymphatic Drainage and Post-Surgical Massage
Gentle, individualized lymphatic and post-surgical massage adapted to your comfort, health history, and guidance from your healthcare team.

What Is Lymphatic and Post-Surgical Massage?
Manual lymphatic drainage, often called MLD, uses gentle, rhythmic movements intended to encourage the movement of lymph fluid. The technique uses much lighter pressure than many forms of therapeutic massage.
Before or after surgery, people may explore lymphatic massage for concerns such as swelling, feelings of heaviness, tissue sensitivity, or general comfort. When appropriate and within the scope of the session, Audrey may also incorporate myofascial or scar tissue–focused techniques.
Audrey adapts each session to your comfort, health history, stage of care, and any instructions provided by your surgical or healthcare team.
Common Reasons Clients Explore This Care

Swelling or feelings of fluid retention after a procedure

Heaviness, tightness, or tissue sensitivity

Scar tissue or movement concerns

A preference for gentle, light-pressure bodywork

Who May Consider Lymphatic Massage?
Maternal Healing
Chronic Conditions

Post-Op Recovery
People may explore lymphatic massage before or after surgery, following a C-section or childbirth, or when they are looking for gentle, light-pressure care.
Suitability depends on your health history, current symptoms, procedure, and guidance from your healthcare provider. If you are uncertain whether lymphatic massage is appropriate, contact Audrey before scheduling and consult your healthcare team when needed.

When Medical Guidance is Needed
Manual lymphatic drainage may not be appropriate for everyone. Contact your physician or another qualified healthcare professional before scheduling if you have:
· A current or suspected blood clot, including deep vein thrombosis
· A serious heart condition, including congestive heart failure
· A serious kidney condition, including acute kidney failure
· Thrombophlebitis or another significant vascular concern
· An active infection or unexplained swelling, redness, heat, or sudden pain

What to Expect Before, During, and After Your Session
1
Before: Consultation
Audrey begins with a brief health history review and conversation about your goals, comfort, procedure, and any instructions from your healthcare team.
2
During: The Session
Lymphatic massage typically uses very light, rhythmic movements. You remain appropriately draped, and Audrey explains which areas she plans to address before beginning. You can ask to pause, adjust, or skip any area at any time.
3
After: Integration
After the session, Audrey will review any relevant comfort or aftercare considerations with you. Continue following the instructions provided by your surgical or healthcare team.
Feel More Prepared?
Your Comfort, Consent, and Safety Come First
Healing can feel physically and emotionally vulnerable, especially after surgery or childbirth. Audrey approaches this work with clear communication, informed consent, and careful pacing.
You are always in control of your session. Audrey can adjust the pressure, positioning, areas addressed, and pacing at any time based on your comfort and feedback. Audrey's goal is to create a space where you feel respected, supported, and fully at ease.
